Lord of the Rings; The Two Towers: Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Viggo Mortensen, Andy Serkis
10/10; Put some pants on and see it NOW!

What can I say about the newest LOTR chapter? It just rocks. The visual effects in this movie are hands down the best ever. It actually looks like there's an army of 10,000 orks dying in an all out war for Middle Earth. The three hours go by a lot quicker than they did in the Fellowship; it never drags and barely slows down. I'm anxiously awaiting the third one.

The Transporter: Jason Statham, Qi Shu: 7/10;
Very worth your time and money.

After seeing Jason Statham in Snatch, I didn't think he was all that tough. But after seeing this, he's like a cross between Bruce Lee, Bond, and Rambo. The fight scenes are really well choreographed. There's tons of great martial arts fighting, as well as lots of car chases and people getting shot, so it's a good balance. Plus (here's the clincher), it has a PLOT! The main character is a freelance getaway driver that gets mixed up with this real dick. Lots of action and sex. Worth seeing.
Signs: Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix, Abigail Breslin: 8/10; "I am insane with anger!"
I want M. Night Shyamalan to be my best friend, and I feel I can arrange that since we're both from the same area and we're both Indian... sort of. Anywho, I admire him deeply as a director, because he actually knows how to create suspense instead of showing gory kill scenes. The whole movie is awesome because the sequence of events and the performances are utterly believable. Plus, Shyamalan doesn't make a big deal about making the aliens look all cool; you see one once in about 12 seconds of the movie; kinda like in Close Encounters. So there ya go.
Deuces Wild: Steven Dorff, Fairuza Balk, Max Perlich:
7/10; It was the highlight of my prom night.

This movie rules. It's about street gangs in the '50s (The Deuces and The Vipers). As always, there's a love element, but the girl is played by Fairuza Balk, so it's not girly or stupid or anything. The basic concept reminds me a lot of West Side Story, but this movie has a lot more balls and better acting. You might remember Fairuza Balk from American History X, and Steven Dorff from Blade. Frankie Muniz (Malcolm in the Middle) is also excellent. See it now. Rah.
